Sardinia Luxury Tax on Mediterranean Yacht Charter Vessels Abolished

Motoryacht TAIL LIGHTS spends some time in the shipyard in Georgia. After that, the popular and highly successful charter yacht heads to the Bahamas in charter ready and bristol condition. Once complete, the 116 foot Azimut looks amazing and had lots of new toys and goods onboard to start her first charter in Nassau on November 21st.
A recent charter guest took the time to share her thoughts about her family’s superyacht experience onboard Azimut yacht TAIL LIGHTS. What lends credence to her comments is the fact she has chartered three times prior. In her own words,
“We just got off the boat this morning. This was my fourth trip on a (luxury yacht) charter vessel and found it to be at least equal to but in many ways better than the previous trips I had taken. Captain Steve Kemp was awesome. He was extremely organized and looked after every detail of the trip. When we needed to adjust he was quick to respond and very accommodating. The crew was fantastic and also very accommodating. The girls were all Johnny-on-the-spot with food, drinks, and any other need we had. The staterooms were always looked after and kept pristine during our trip. Very pleasant personalities and fun to talk to. Jeff made sure the boat and tender were operating perfectly and was also very accommodating when we wanted to tour the engine room. The boat itself was appointed very nicely and it was obvious that she had been upgraded recently. It looked brand new. I would highly recommend (yacht) Tail Lights and its crew, particularly Steve the captain. I certainly would look into chartering her again.”
Originally a 2011, her $1.5 million refit in 2016 changed so much. Improvements made include, for instance, a full paint job. Two tone dark and light gray in Stoppani Metallic acrylic paint is fabulous. Interior wood and floor refinishing. and new exterior and interior soft goods. For example, upholstery, cushions, decorative throw pillows, bed covers, linens, towels, etc. Continuing with the updates in addition are all new serviceware like china, crystal, silver ware, and table settings. Additionally, new Murray teak deck chairs on Fly bridge and Aft Deck, and new Westminster sun lounge beds on Fly bridge.
Also included in the refit:
The yacht accommodates up to 10 guests in 5 staterooms. She has 8 beds, consisting of 2 doubles, 2 twins, and 1 convertible configured as 2 Pullmen, 1 King, 2 Queens, 1 Double, and 4 Singles.
Watertoys include:
Rates for TAIL LIGHTS are from $75,000 per week, plus all running expenses and any applicable taxes.

Catamaran Sailboat Yacht Charter Boat Dreaming On
April 2012:
We’re just back from a week on board sail catamaran DREAMING ON, sailing the BVIs in the capable hands of our wonderful crew, Geoff and Iza. We were also vacationing with another couple…and we all agreed that the whole experience exceeded our expectations by far, to the extent that we have already booked again for next year!
This is all down to Geoff and Iza who are a very special and generous couple – it was like sailing with good friends – the chemistry was perfect and we just hit it off.
They welcomed us on board their beautiful home and anticipated our every need. Iza is an amazing cook – the food (presentation, quality and variety) is better than you get in most good restaurants and all prepared in a galley kitchen – the sushi in particular was unbelievable! And Geoff…well, in our opinion he makes a better Painkiller than the Soggy Dollar (as well as being a great Captain).
They had arranged an itinerary for us (but it was flexible) and we went to different, islands and/or bays every day. For instance, a sail to Anegada, followed by a fabulous lobster dinner at the Reef Hotel – highly recommend this!
They took us to all their favorite spots in the BVIs and we couldn’t get enough of the clear blue waters and white sandy beaches – plenty of snorkeling, kayaking and paddle boarding to be had. In fact, we didn’t really have enough time just to hang out in one place for a day or go tubing or water-skiing, which is why we are returning next year. Now we know all the best spots and where we’d like to go back to and spend more time.
(Catamaran DREAMING ON) is comfortable and has plenty of space, both out the front on the ‘trampolines’ and the shady area at the back by the cockpit where we enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Overall, for anyone out there considering a luxury yacht charter, I would highly recommend, without hesitation, DREAMING ON, and Geoff and Iza – it will be one of the (if not THE) best vacations of your life! We certainly can’t wait to get back on board next year…..

Motoryacht Natori
Just to say we had a fabulous, wonderful, brilliant time on motoryacht NATORI.
The luxury mega yacht charter boat was lovely, the crew fabulous, food tooooo yummy, and once again, we had a perfect family holiday.
Overall impressions were – FIRST CLASS.
Professionalism of officers, deck crew, stewardess, chef – first, first class
Food quality and presentation – first class
Entertainment – first class
Watersports – first classOnly thing to single out once again was how completely wonderful the crew were. Absolutely brilliant. One really great touch was that during the charter, the crew took photos too and the First Officer spent hours putting them together onto a CD with music as a memento. Really, really special touch!
Itinerary and places we visited were faberoony…even the stinky mud bath on the volcano.

Wonderful time sailing in the Caribbean. We were very happy with our sailing charter onboard (82′) CLEVELANDER. The charter went very well and we are interested to hear about Clevelander’s summer cruising area in Croatia. Capt. Simon was great! Thank you for directing us to Clevelander!

“I wanted to…share some additional details of our experience on the Freedom motor yacht. From start to finish, Captain George, his crew and the Freedom yacht offered us a first class experience.
While we expected the boat to be very impressive, we were delighted with how spacious it was; how private the bedrooms felt; the music and satellite TV system that ran throughout the boat (and its ease of use); and how customized the temperature systems were by bedroom.
The design of the entire boat is quite exceptional. There are ample spaces to do just about anything throughout the course of the trip: tan, read, be in shade, be in air conditioning, relax in a hot tub, sit at a bar, watch a movie, fish, play board games, etc. It truly is a floating hotel.
While we expected to food to be good, we did not anticipate 3 gourmet, 5-star dining-experience meals per day. Joseph (chef) was simply outstanding and created meals that were memorable, healthy, and just the right amount of food. The children and adults alike loved each and every meal and appreciated the honoring of our requests while far exceeding our expectations.
While we expected to have play toys, we did not anticipate having Matt at our service, 24/7 to help us on and off of kayaks, paddle boards, willing to take the kids out wake boarding and tubing, etc. Matt had the perfect temperament for adults and children alike– and was an incredible enabler to all of our fun trips snorkeling, paddle boarding, etc. He was a real gift and asset for the entire time.
While we expected to have good service, we did not anticipate Sarah’s artful setting of the tables for every meal— that made us feel as though we were eating in a different restaurant each day, even though we were at the same table as the prior meal and prior day. We would run down after breakfast to get something in our rooms, only to find the beds had already been made; the bathrooms straightened/cleaned. She was the person who made everything beautiful and easy. She was a real joy to have and get to know.
And while we expected a highly seasoned and competent captain, we felt honored to be under the care of Captain George Custer for a week. He was entirely willing to customize our plans and routes to meet our needs—- always with a plan, and always willing to change the plan as individual desires or weathers changed. He is a delightful person with rich life experiences that our entire group enjoyed. I would highly recommend him to any type or size of group. He seems to have seen and done it all— and knows how to read people and groups well. He is a gem and we felt safe in his care. It was hard to say good-bye!
The toys on the boat were key to our enjoyment as two active families. The paddle boards and kayaks were in constant use, as were the sea bobs when we were in waters where they were permitted. We used the smaller boats to take us snorkeling in many interesting places and enjoyed those side trips immensely.
All in all, as you suggested it would be, it really was the vacation of a lifetime for our families. It was hard to end— and we hope to do something like it again in the future.
I would strongly encourage you to steer future groups to Broward motor yacht Freedom. It has it all; it felt new and fresh; was immaculately clean and cared for— and had a crew second to none.
Warm regards-
Leslie B

We were truly impressed by the crew onboard NewVida (160′ motoryacht). They met all of our requests, including anchoring right off the beach of my brother’s villa in St. Martin. It was wonderful to have the entire extended family onboard for lunches, etc.
Thank you for selecting this yacht for our holiday.

LADY BEE Motoryacht
YACHT CHARTER REVIEW
Client testimonials are critical for the industry. Superyachts cater to an exclusive clientele, so any feedback that we receive is important to pass along to other clients. We also rate yachts for their feasibility to particular groups and what they expect. For instance, if a crew is bothering the guests, we comment to the crew about remaining invisible.
EDITOR’S NOTE
Motoryacht Lady Bee is a 142′ Caribbean yacht charter vessel. She accommodates 12 guests in 6 cabins. This review was not our charter, but sharing the review is important to us. Lady Bee spends time in the winter in the lower Caribbean. After that, she heads to the Bahamas with a home port of Nassau. In other words, Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island, here we come!
RATE
Weekly charter rate is $110,000, plus all running expenses.
