KEEPING IT LIGHT

From time to time, we like to take a light-hearted look at the world of yachting.  Yacht names inspired by love is always a hoot.  We still chuckle at the comments we get about our salmon skin blog [Yes, some luxury yacht charter vessels DO use salmon skin for upholstery.  NO, it doesn’t smell fishy!!!].

GAME ON!

Let’s have some fun and play a game about well-known NFL owners and their personal superyachts.   For every correct answer give yourself 1 to 5 points, depending upon the degree of difficulty.   At the end of the blog, we’ll tell you what you win based on your total points.  Let’s get started!!!

This is a multiple choice question (3 points):

In January, 2020, presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren takes aim and calls out an NFL owner and his purchase of a superyacht. On Twitter she says,

Blank actually built three tenders for his superyacht.  Here is his explanation as to the names he selected for his tenders:

“I personally, carefully chose the names of our three beautiful custom Compass tenders. ‘Soul Purpose’ reflects how being at sea stirs the soul to dream of peace and happiness and a higher purpose in life. The other two tenders, ‘Max’ and ‘Molly’ were named in honor of my parents, which is my way of revering their memory and keeping them forever close to me wherever I travel. They both loved the ocean. I am sure they would have gotten a kick out of knowing I lent their names to such worthy recipients.”

THE CLUB

Now, let’s take a look at the NFL Owners Superyacht Club.

• YACHT LADY S.  Daniel Snyder is the owner of the Washington Redskins.  He now takes a seat at the table in the NFL superyacht clubhouse as the owner of the 305 foot Feadship yacht LADY S.  The luxury yacht charter vessel is a 2019 model and is built by Feadship.  The striking exterior is a Michael Leach design and the interior is crafted by Reymond Langton.  Amenities include a one-of-a-kind IMAX theater, fully-certified helipad, and four VIP suites with 8k TVs.

• YACHT KISMET.  This is the 312 foot yacht of Shad Khan. Khan is the owner of the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars.   Lurssen Shipyard in Germany is the builder of the yacht.  Espen Øeino International is the exterior designer and Reymond Langton Design is responsible for the interior. Notable features include not one but two helicopter pads, a private observation platform with an outdoor bed created for stargazing.

THE CLUB CONTINUES

• YACHT DreAMBoat.  This is another yacht in the 90 meter range.  The 295 foot yacht is a 2019 model, built by Oceanco in the Netherlands.  Arthur Blank, the owner of the Atlanta Falcons, built this yacht for his family’s personal use. Espen Oeino is the exterior designer, and Terence Disdale is the designer of the interior.  Note the middle letters in the yacht’s name spell, “AMB” – the initials of the owner, Arthur M Blank.  The owner has a large family of children and grandchildren, and this yacht has accommodations for up to 23 passengers.

• YACHT BRAVO EUGENIA.  The final member of the 90 meter NFL Owner’s Superyacht Club is this 357 foot yacht.  Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys owns this 2018 yacht.  Oceanco is the builder, and Nuvolari & Lenard is the designer of the exterior.  Reymond Langton Design is responsible for the interior.  There are two helicopter landing pads.  Specifically, one is on the foredeck, and another on the main deck aft. There is also a wellness center with sauna, as well as a steam room and plunge pool.
