Call it, “Life imitating art.” They were under siege by a great white shark in the 1975 film, JAWS. Actor Roy Scheider’s character exclaimed, ‘We’re gonna need a bigger boat.’
Obviously the film’s director, Steven Spielberg, took that sentiment to heart. His 282 foot superyacht is up for sale. It will be replaced with an even larger vessel.
Oceanco 2010 Spielberg yacht SEVEN SEAS lived up to its name. The famous director, his wife Kate Capshaw, and their seven children made it happen. They took the yacht on a 30,000-mile round-the-world cruise.
Over the years, many famous Hollywood celebrities have been guests onboard the yacht. For instance, Gyneth Paltrow and Leonardo DiCaprio. The UK’s Daily News wrote an article. A friend of the director said, “Steven didn’t realize how much he’d enjoy cruising the ocean. Now he’d like to spend more time exploring the seas, and bring a few friends along for the ride. So he’s upgrading to a bigger yacht.”
The yacht is sometimes available for hire. This season’s charter rate in the Mediterranean is $1.2 million per week.

If you’re considering renting the yacht this summer, you might have to wait until September, as the legendary director and his family have spent a considerable portion of their summer vacation onboard, and were recently spotted taking in the sites of Portofino, Italy. Yes, poor Leo. The “Django Unchained” star was hard at work, toiling away like the rest of us 9 to 5 “lunchpailers.” Specifically after being snubbed by the Oscar voters.
Well…maybe “toiling” is not the right word.

St, Barts Gustavia Fireworks for New Year’s
The tiny island nation of St Barts once again played host to multiple people and boats. For instance, celebrities, business icons, and the world’s largest yachts to celebrate New Year’s Eve 2011.
With fireworks bursting overhead, many revelers made their way to the £59 million island estate of Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich for his annual party. It is estimated to cost £5 million (about $7.7 million US Dollars). The star-studded event featured a live performance by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Many stayed on the Russian’s 536 foot superyacht ECLIPSE – the world’s largest private yacht with two helicopter pads, a submarine, and two swimming pools. Other yachts anchored in the harbor or along the quay included the 377 foot motor yacht LUNA, Feadship yacht charter motor yacht DREAM, and Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen motor yacht TATOOSH.

In conclusion, revelers on yachts came ashore in tenders. This was before being whisked off in chauffeured cars to the various parties taking place across the island.

Winfrey, on the left, enjoys the famous harbor’s glittering waters on board the bareboat sailboat charter yacht “Eagle Rock.” She joins Russell Crowe, a Sydney local, tailed by a flotilla of some 20 other yachts.
