Sardinia Luxury Tax on Mediterranean Yacht Charter Vessels Abolished

Posted by admin
Recently, we blogged about the Thai government’s efforts to lift the restrictions that kept superyacht charter vessels away from Thailand. Now that the door has been opened for foreign-flagged yachts. In addition, American charterers and tourists are welcome. Here are some cultural taboos that could save you from being branded an “Ugly American.”
Keep in mind almost 95% of the Thai population is Buddhist. As in much of southeast Asia, there are cultural taboos that non-Buddhists would not know, some of which are considered religiously offensive.
Three things NOT to do on your yacht charter Thailand:
Always use your right hand to pass or receive an object. [Sorry left-handed charterers.]
In conclusion, one of the great joys of a yachting vacation is The Superyacht Experience™. It is the chance to embrace diversity, participate in unique cultural events, and rejuvenate mind, body, and spirit. By avoiding these taboos, think how much more enjoyable your Phuket yacht charter vacation will be. You won’t offend the wonderful people of Thailand, and your mother won’t scold you for putting your feet up on the yacht’s furniture!

Enthusiasts of Bahama yacht charters say “It’s Better in the Bahamas.” The waters warm with the summer sun. The white sand beaches stretch from here to the horizon.
Gold? Did someone say gold? Of course, a great summer special rate on a Bahama yacht charter makes it even better, and motor yacht Golden Times is ready to oblige. Based in Nassau this summer, luxury motoryacht Golden Times is offering a deep discount on a mega yacht charter vacation in June or July.
A 10 night holiday is now priced at $33,500 for a family of 6 to 7, or a group of friends. (This is a savings of $8,600 on mega yacht Golden Times’ standard summer rate.)
This 94’ Hargrave motoryacht was built in 2001 and is maintained to the highest standards of safety, comfort, and appearance.
Her main salon is well-equipped for audio visual entertainment. With a comfortable arrangement of sofas both to port and starboard, plenty of guests can gather for movies in front of the large flat screen TV. The formal dining salon is separated from the salon ever-so-slightly by granite-topped cabinetry of light cherry wood and maple inlay.
Accommodations are provided in 3 guest cabins. The Master Stateroom is below amidships and has a King bed and en suite head with adjoining central shower for his and her use. Plenty of closet and drawer space is reserved for charter guests. There is a large flat screen TV with satellite and DVD player.
The VIP Stateroom is situated below amidships to port side with a Queen bed and en suite head with shower. There is a 13” TV with DVD player.
The Twin Stateroom is below amidships to starboard side with two twin beds and one Pullman plus en suite head with shower. It is also equipped with a 13” TV with DVD player.
Of course, Bahama yacht charters are all about the views, the sun, and the sea. On the skylounge deck, a couple may have a cocktail at the bar while enjoying the panoramic view or choose to entertain in a more cozy setting with an additional TV here as well. Leading out to the sundeck, there are teak chaise lounges for reading and relaxing, or there are comfortable sunpads for soaking up the Bahamian sun’s rays. The Jacuzzi may be inviting during the day or for a romantic evening under the stars.
Almost forgot to mention the watertoys! What would a yacht charter holiday be without some fun in the surf? Her extensive toy list includes a 27’ Boston Whaler sport tender with twin 225 horsepower Mercury engines (perfect for some quick exploration of the nearby coves and inlets), a second tender – a 16’ Novurania with 90 horsepower (good for wakeboarding, waterskiing, etc.), snorkel gear, a Laser sailboat, and extensive fishing gear. The water in the Bahamas is tropical, clean, clear, and absolutely magical!
Captain Jay and Chief Stewardess Breanna return in June as newlyweds. They are joined by award-winning chef, Jeff Ciucevich.
Come enjoy a fabulous mega yacht charter experience with a fun, professional crew in the uncrowded and unspoiled islands of the Bahamas.

Top 100 World’s Largest Yachts, 2015
Posted on by Jana Sheeder
UPDATE. 32 people responded, and 28 had the right answer! So, how did we react? We sent out eco-totebags to ALL of them. That was FUN! Thank you for playing, everybody! The question? Who built motoryacht AZZAM? The answer? Lurssen Yachts built the yacht in 2013.
The year 2015 started out with a forecast of ten brand new superyachts scheduled for completion this year, all of which when launched would be ranked in the, “Top 100 of the World’s Largest Yachts.”
With the year quickly drawing to a close, it turns out 8 of the 10 were completed and launched on schedule – a testament to their builder’s ability to deliver a yacht on schedule (although only the builder and owner know for sure if the yacht was also delivered, “on budget”).
Here are the 8 newest entries to the list of the 2015 world’s largest yachts, along with their position in the top 100:
Rank in
Top 100 Name Length Builder
19 GOLDEN ODYSSEY 123.20m (404’2”) Lurssen
33 ULYSSES 107m (351’) Klevin
37 SYMPHONY 101.50m (333’) Feadship
49 ROYAL ROMANCE 92.50m (303’5”) Feadship
54 ORCHID 91m (298’6”) Lurssen
74 AQUIJO 85.90m (281’9”) Oceanco
85 SAVANNAH 83.50m (273’11”) Feadship
93 ROMEA 81.80m (268’4”) Abeking & Rasmussen
Dutch über-builder Feadship leads the way with three top 100 megayachts, with Germany’s Lurssen Yachts delivering two, including the largest newest yacht launched in 2015 – the 123 meter motor yacht GOLDEN ODYSSEY.
Private yacht charter clients might be disappointed that only one of these new yachts is immediately slated to enter the yacht rental market – the Abeking & Rasmussen yacht ROMEA. Based in the Med, The Monaco yacht charter vessel has set her 2015 inaugural season rental rate at Euro 875,000 per week [plus running expenses, of course!].
Feadship and Lurssen enthusiasts don’t despair – these builders have plenty of behemoth yachts available for hire, including the 85.10 meter Lurssen yacht SOLANDGE, and the 81 meter Feadship yacht AIR.
Check back with us in late January, as we plan to release the list of the 2016 forecast of the newest yachts scheduled to join the top 100 world’s largest yachts!
