LYANA is now named SWAN. (Click to access her profile and to book this gorgeous Benetti!)
Entering her third season in the Mediterranean, motor yacht SWAN looks as fresh and inviting as the day she launched.
SWAN luxury Benetti superyacht
The Benetti yacht charter vessel is the epitome of elegance. Someone effectively blended contemporary style with classic touches.
Sixty meter SWAN and her crew are now seasoned veterans. They are ready to deliver a highly satisfying summer charter. This yacht is capable of cruising at 14 knots. She shares Western Mediterranean. Her itinerary includes destinations such as the Amalfi Coast, Corsica, Sardinia, Monaco, St Tropez and the Côte d’Azur.
Let’s take a closer look at M/Y SWAN. Interior by Paris-based Pierre-Yves Rochon design. It offers classic shapes, set in a color scheme of beige and crème for furnishing and upholstery. Everything is framed by dark lacquered wood for cabinets and joinery. Uniquely, a collection of fine artwork by Botero, Dali, and others spreads throughout the interior.
One charter guest described this area as, “Tasteful, with an overall calm and hospitable feel.”
A central spiral staircase connects all interior decks. Adjacent to this central area is the owner’s office which serves as the entrypoint to the master suite. Lavishly spacious, this room has the look and feel of a fully-equipped spa. The massive bathroom features a rainforest shower area with hydro-therapy jets. The stateroom itself is bathed in natural light via a circular central skylight, and a semicircular array of windows that turn this room into a luxurious private observation lounge with panoramic views beyond the yacht’s bow.
Motor yacht SWAN can accommodate up to twelve guests, with additional staterooms found on the upper and lower decks. Located on the lower deck, two doubles and two twins can be found, all adjacent to the central staircase. Each cabin has sumptuous ensuite bathrooms.
On the upper deck, a VIP suite doubles as both an extra stateroom as well as a massage and wellness area. A licensed masseuse is onboard and at the guests’ disposal.
The aft section of the upper deck features an open-air saloon where a bar, games table, and multiple seating arrangements can be found. Although this may be true, the large space allows for both intimate dinner parties as well as elegant cocktail parties.
Charter rates from €320,000 per week.

Today’s blog involves the end of the France VAT exemption. Back in February, we speculated the cost to rent a private yacht in the fabled south of France was about to go up, due to a ruling by the European Union the VAT exemption on chartering yachts in France was not compliant with EU VAT rules. Now, France’s efforts to seek a VAT exemption have failed, as the European Court of Justice has ruled the French tax exemption for commercial vessels is illegal.
On March 21, the European Court of Justice (in European Commission v. France; C-197/12) had a belief. It held that French legislation providing a VAT exemption for some commercial vessels used for navigation on the high seas. Specifically that carry passengers for remuneration or are used for commercial activities. “…does not comply with Directive 2006/112/EC (the VAT directive), specifically with article 148(a), (c), and (d).
“ The approach of the summer charter season is at hand. Yacht managers and owners are scrambling. In specific, to make sure all paperwork is in compliance with the ECJ’s ruling.”

“The Climbing Wall really could be the client request for 2013/14 and the interest in it, even in these last ten days, has blown us away. We hope to have a few climbing walls on yachts before summer really kicks in – and they’ll all be the talking point of the bay.”
“In our superyacht industry, the more high-tech gadgets and premium toys you have onboard, the greater your odds are to secure charters from repeat clients,” explains Sheeder. “Many clients will return each season to the comfortable surroundings of the same destination, but they will expect the yacht they choose to provide fresh entertainment options with each new charter.”
